ABOUT ME
After earning a Bachelor of Social Sciences in Psychology from the University of KwaZulu-Natal, I pursued an Honours degree in Psychology through the University of South Africa (UNISA). Following my marriage, my husband and I relocated to Pretoria, where I completed my Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology at the University of Pretoria. During my postgraduate studies, I was honoured to be inducted into the Golden Key International Honour Society in recognition of my academic excellence.
As part of my training as a student psychologist, I gained invaluable experience at 1 Military Hospital, Westkoppies Psychiatric Hospital, and the Itoseng Community Clinic in Mamelodi. My internship further expanded my clinical exposure through rotations at King Dinuzulu Hospital Complex, Addington Hospital, and R.K. Khan Hospital. I completed my community service year at Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital in Johannesburg—the largest hospital in Africa—where I had the privilege of serving a diverse and dynamic patient population.
My professional journey has included working with various non-governmental organisations that reflect my commitment to causes close to my heart. I have a particular interest in supporting children with Autism and have trained and worked as an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) therapist at The Star Academy. My dedication to assisting children with special needs and their families remains a central focus of my work.
Currently, I am in private practice in Alberton, where I provide therapeutic services to individuals, families, and groups. I have treated a broad spectrum of psychological challenges across diverse clinical settings.
I am trained in multiple therapeutic modalities, including Psychodynamic Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), and Systems Therapy. While my approach is primarily grounded in Cognitive Behavioural principles, I firmly believe that effective therapy must be tailored to the unique needs of each individual, couple, or family.
My areas of clinical interest include attachment difficulties, trauma, loss, mood and anxiety disorders. I am passionate about supporting clients through life’s challenges, including relationship concerns, mental and physical health issues, bereavement, trauma, and personal or professional growth.
